Employees of the Department of Soil Science named after V.I.Tulpanov professor V.S. Tskhovrebov, associate professors Faizova V.I., Lysenko V.Ya., Kalugin D.V. and Nikiforova A.M. took part in the annual specialized agro-industrial exhibition "Agrouniversal-2018", which was held in the city of Mikhailovsk on the 11-13th of April. The leading enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Russia presented their achievements and developments.
On the 12th of April, from 13:00 to 15:00 hours, a round table was held on the topic "Increasing soil fertility through the use of chemical meliorants (phosphogypsum)", at which the head of the Soil Science Department named after V.I. Tulpanov professor V.S. Tskhovrebov presented a report on the topic "The experience of gypsum soils in the studies of the Soil Science Department of StGAU." He presented materials of many years of research on gypsum solonetzes and solonetzic-fused soils of the black soil zone. The reporter convincingly proved that gypsum of fused soils leads to an increase in the productivity of agricultural land by 25-35%. In addition, Professor V. Tskhovrebov presented material on the application of phosphogypsum on zonal types of soils: on ordinary black soil, leached black soil and southern black soil. The meliorative effect on these soils is manifested in the elimination of sulfur deficiency. He also touched upon the issues of changing the acid-base potential in gypsum, the physico-chemical properties, as well as the quantity and quality of the crop.
