Agrarians of Stavropol have discussed prospects of development of plant growing

On June 5, 2018 in the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Agrarian Center a seminar-meeting "Modern agrotechnologies - the key to successful management of crop production" was held. Representatives of the Stavropol State Agrarian University took an active part in it.

The event was attended by: heads and specialists of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, heads of agro-services of administrations of municipal districts and city districts of the province, major agronomists of agricultural enterprises and peasant farms, representatives of firms supplying plant protection products and mineral fertilizers, as well as employees of our university, Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources Alexander Nikolayevich Esaulko.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Nikolaevich Sitnikov opened the seminar.

The reports were made by the head of the Plant Physiology Laboratory of
the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution the North Caucasian Federal Scientific Agrarian Center Eroshenko F.F. - "The condition of winter crops and the forecast of their yield", head of the laboratory of grain quality Galushko N.A. - "Dependence of the formation of winter wheat grain quality on the conditions of the environment of the North Caucasus region". Meteorological forecast for the current year was presented by the Head of the Department of Agrometeorology of the Stavropol Center of hydrometeorology and monitoring of environment Verevkin S.I.

Then the seminar participants moved to the demonstration sites. We examined cereal crops, breeding nurseries of varieties of Stavropol breeding, experimental crops with the use of plant protection products of LLC Syngenta, LLC AgroExpertGroup, Lissterra and other companies.

Within the framework of the «FoodNet» program, further cooperation of the Stavropol State Agrarian University with the North Caucasian Federal Scientific Agrarian Center is planned, on the basis of which a center for selection and seed production will be established.

The program of the seminar ended with summing up the results and inspecting the exhibition presented by agricultural enterprises and agrofirms of the Stavropol Territory. Also, the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology of Stavropol SAU presented its new developments and a mobile laboratory for the selection of soil samples.
