In the sports complex of Stavropol State Agrarian University a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Annual Academic Staff Spartakiad was held.
Honorary guests of the event were: Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Yannushkin, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Honored trainer of the USSR in acrobatics, First World Acrobatics Champion, Vice President of the Federation of Trampoline Jumping, Member of the Technical Committee of the European Federation of Gymnastics Vasily Alexandrovich Skakun and Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, World Weightlifting Champion, Olympic champion Andrey Ivanovich Chemerkin. Also, the chairman of the trade union of workers of the agro-industrial complex of the Stavropol Territory, Sergey G. Marnopolsky, congratulated the university athletes.
The welcoming speech to the participants and guests of the sporting event was addressed by the Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Truhachev.
In his speech, he noted that the university leadership always with great attention and encouragement applied not only to the scientific achievements of employees, but also to their personal development, healthy lifestyle and sport, and therefore has been creating all conditions for comfortable and regular training. A striking proof of this is one of the best sports complexes located on the territory of SSAU equipped with the latest word of sports fashion and technology, which is constantly being modernized and expanding, new directions of classes are opened and the most titled and advanced coaches and mentors are brought in.
Some words of gratitude Vladimir Ivanovich addressed to university veterans of sports who, despite their considerable age, never cease to amaze with their sports victories and set an example, as always to remain active and healthy, to a young generation of employees.
- Stavropol State Agrarian University is rightfully considered the most sporting educational institution of the region, - said in his congratulatory speech addressed to the participants and winners of the Games, Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the region Vladimir Yannushkin.
And the Olympic champion in weightlifting Andrey Ivanovich Chemerkin noted that “summing up the results of the 18th Spartakiada is a kind of age of the sports movement at the university, and from that day it should become even more powerful and massive and reach a new level of victories and results”.
Winners were congratulated and awarded with medals and valuable prizes in such categories as Street ball, Table Tennis, Chess, Volleyball, Mini Football, Darts, Relay, Swimming, Badminton and Shooting.
In the team event on the results of all competitions Champions XVIII Spartakiad among the staff of Stavropol State Agrarian University became the Faculty of Economics.
Silver and bronze of the Spartakiad went to the team of the Electric Power Faculty and the team of the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Technological Management, respectively.
And in the contest “The Healthiest Faculty and Structural Unit of Stavropol State Agrarian University” for the great contribution to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and active work on the development of physical culture and sports at the University, the following were awarded: Accounting and Finance Faculty (3rd place), Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture (2nd place), Faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Technological Management (2nd place) and Electric Power Faculty (1st place).
In addition, the event was presented with certificates of rewarding the students of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” with the badge of the RLD standards.
