Representatives of the Agrarian University took part in the commemorative action "Together Against Terror!"

The Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism was celebrated in the regional capital. Students and stuff of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, headed by the Rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Truhachev, took part in the citywide meeting that took place at the Palace of Culture and Sports. Together with all the people of Stavropol they remembered the victims of terrorist acts.

The list of cities affected by terrorism is great: Moscow, Vladikavkaz, Buinaksk, Kaspiisk, Nalchik, Nazran, Beslan, Volgodonsk, Budennovsk, Volgograd, Kizlyar, Grozny, Pyatigorsk, Mineralnye Vody, St. Petersburg and many others.

The black hand of terrorism also affected Stavropol. On May 26, 2010, near the Palace of Culture and Sports 15 minutes before the concert of the state ensemble of dance of the Chechen Republic "Vainakh", an explosive device with a capacity of about half a kilogram of TNT worked. As a result of this terrorist attack more than 50 people were injured, eight people were killed.

On the day of remembrance, representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the city and the region, educational institutions, national and cultural associations and faiths gathered at the citywide rally.

"Remember these terrible moments of our recent history, we are all united in our intention to resist terrorism in every way," said Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev. - Our university is a multinational family! And everyone in it lives together: together they study, spend leisure together, participate in team competitions, help each other in studies, creativity and sports. Over the years, I know that the best remedy for extremism is love, friendship and mutual respect! It is this atmosphere that we create in the walls of the university. We have children from the republics of the North Caucasus and countries of the near and far abroad: Azerbaijan, Congo, Syria and many others. We bring up in our students feelings of good-neighborliness, mutual assistance, tolerance, patriotism and a firm desire to live in peace and harmony.

As a sign of solidarity in the fight against terrorism, the rally participants filled the symbolic heart set on the square with red carnations, laid flowers to it, and released thousands of airy white balls to the sky, symbolizing innocent bloodshed and the desire to live in peace, to live in safety and with confidence in the future .
