Prevention is the best way to avoid delinquency

Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted a preventive conversation with students of the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education, led by the head of the Public Security Committee of the Administration of the City of Stavropol, Evgeny V. Polstyanov, and the Inspector of the Department for Minors of the Police Department No. 1 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Stavropol, Lieutenant Andrei Y. Kopotilov.

At the meeting, which took place in the assembly hall of the university, there were 276 underage students of the faculty of secondary vocational education.

The event was opened by the event manager of the Public Security Committee of the Administration of the City of Stavropol Evgeny Viktorovich Polstyanov. In conversation with the first-year students, he explained in detail what the concept of "delinquency" includes and that all of them to some extent constitute a social danger. During the conversation, Yevgeny Viktorovich told about the liability for crimes and administrative violations committed by persons under the age of 18. Particular attention in the conversation was given to security in social networks and personal responsibility of each person for information posted on the Internet.

The dialogue with the students was continued by the lieutenant of the police Andrey Y. Kopotilov, who focused on dangers of the use and distribution of narcotic substances, as well as the illegality of participation in unsanctioned rallies.

During the meeting, students asked topical questions and actively expressed their opinions.

Such preventive conversations of police officers with first-year students, organized by the department for educational work and social issues of Stavropol State Agrarian University, have long become traditional. The organizers are convinced that regular holding of such meetings is extremely necessary to increase the level of legal literacy of students and to prevent possible delinquency in the future.
