Volunteers of the student group "Financier" helped in the organization of the Open Day

September 22 in the regional branch of the Southern Central Administration of the Central Bank of Russia was an Open Day, dedicated to volunteers of financial education.

Students and teachers of the accounting and financial faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University took part in the Open Day of the Central Bank of Russia. Despite the fact that the action is being held throughout the country for the third time, this event was for the first time devoted to financial education. And this is not accidental, because it is in the last decade in Russia that more attention has been paid to the problem of increasing the financial literacy of the population.

Visitors had a unique opportunity to visit the historical building of the bank, remarkable for its architecture in the style of "modern". The participants were able to get acquainted with the museum-exposition fund, visit the financial literacy lecture-room, where the specialists of the Bank of Russia told about the safe use of bank cards, how to build relationships with microfinance organizations, about the cards "Mir", etc. Anyone could make original photos with large mock-ups of the newest banknotes and coins, and also to get acquainted with volunteers of financial education.

The guests were interested in master classes, business games and quizzes prepared by volunteers of the student volunteer unit "Financier" under the guidance of the teachers of the department of financial management and banking of SSAU. Visitors could play a financial board game, solve financial puzzles, and recreate the evolutionary chain money from a seashell to a plastic card, to make a fascinating journey around the world, armed with currencies of different countries.

For active participation in the All-Russian event "Bank of Russia Open Day" volunteers of the "Financier" detachment, Dmitry V. Meshcheryakov, Deputy Governor of the Regional Department of the Southern Central Administration of the Central Bank of Russia, were presented with certificates and badges of the financial education volunteer.

According to the dean of the accounting and financial faculty Elena Ivanovna Kostyukova "the work of the volunteer unit since its inception in 2015 is in demand and significant. After all, in an environment where financial products and services are becoming more and more difficult, it is not easy to understand them. In order for people to be able to navigate freely in the world of finance and choose exactly the services that they need, the accounting and finance faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University together with the basic educational and scientific activities conducts work on financial education and financial literacy of students, schoolchildren and their parents.

Our volunteers work with a wide audience with different levels of knowledge about the economy and various financial opportunities. In a simple form, they sort out the situations that everyone can face. Volunteering councils are not a direct guide to action, but only ancillary information that can be taken into account in order not to be in an unfavourable situation and not to lose sight of something important in making financial decisions.

We are not limited to the University. We are interested in the scale. Therefore, participation in the project of financial education of the Central Bank opens new horizons for us! ».
