University that lives for Stavropol Krai

This is how the rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, who spoke with the Governor of Stavropol Krai Vladimir Vladimirovich Vladimirov (who visited the university with the purpose of acquaintance with the construction of a new educational laboratory building) designated the role of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The head of the region visited the construction site, inspected future lecture halls, laboratory classes, a reading room, Internet cafes, observation platforms and an auditorium for 800 seats, equipped, including places for people with disabilities.

The governor of Stavropol Krai, together with the rector of the university, carried out the symbolic laying of the first step of the staircase at the front entrance of the complex under construction.

"Every year our university produces thousands of literate, popular, talented specialists who work for the benefit of the region," said Vladimir Trukhachev. - 90% of today's human resources of Stavropol Agro-complex are graduates of our university. And it is important to create the most comfortable conditions for students, allowing them to study well, develop, move science, and implement start-up projects.

The new building of Stavropol State Agrarian University is capable of simultaneously accommodating more than 5,000 students. The three upper floors of the building with spacious vestibules are supposed to be completely given to the student's asset - there will be a kind of creative zone for young people: studios, workshops, KVN-sites. Entry into this space will be open not only for students of Agrarian University, but also for students of other universities in Stavropol.

Construction of the building began 15 years ago. Due to the economic crisis and lack of funding, it was necessary to suspend the work for a while. But with the direct assistance of the Governor of the region, it was possible to enlist the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, and the completion of the construction of an educational and research facility important for the agricultural region was financed from the federal budget. For today the readiness of the object is 92%. It is planned that after commissioning at the end of this year, the new building will house the Faculties of Agrobiology and Plant Protection.

- Stavropol State Agrarian University is the pride of not only our region; it is the best agricultural university in the country. And university students deserve to study in such modern and comfortable conditions. We thank the President of Russia, who supported our university and allocated funds from the reserve fund of the head of state. Now there is a certainty that the construction will be completed, - V.V. Vladimirov.

Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev stressed that the university at its own expense will make a gift to the city, completely landscaping the territory adjoining the new building. Limes will be planted, flowerbeds and lawns are laid, pavement tiles are laid, design lanterns are put and recreational areas are set up with comfortable benches.
