The fire of the World Winter Universiade-2019 will be the first meet by Agrarian University in Stavropol land!

Carrying the Torch Relay is one of the long-standing traditions of major international competitions. The relay race of the main symbol of the XXIX World Winter Universiade united millions of citizens from different countries. The fire, has passed a huge way from Italy to China, from Kazakhstan to Russia, today, October 12, 2018, arrives in Stavropol. In total, in our country, 17 cities had the honor of meeting the Universiade Fire. The federal stage of the relay has already passed Moscow, Kaliningrad, Simferopol, Rostov-on-Don. The Fire of the Universiade arriving from Rostov land will be deposited within the walls of the sports and recreation complex of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.

This bright entertainment project is designed to popularize sports around the world. The fire of the Universiade symbolizes the unity and friendship of students from all over the world who dream of living in peace.

The torch relay of the World Winter Universiade-2019, which will be held in Krasnoyarsk next March, started on September 20. The route of the federal stage included 17 major cities of Russia. The relay race will end on March 1, 2019 in Krasnoyarsk.

Stavropol State Agrarian University had the honor of becoming the starting point of the city relay. 11 representatives of the university were among the torchbearers of the Universiade, among them outstanding athletes and public figures: Andrei Ivanovich Chemerkin - Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the SSAU, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in weightlifting, Olympic champion; Evgeny Vladimirovich Kuznetsov - graduate of the SSAU, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in diving, World and European Champion, silver medalist of the Olympic Games in London; Nina Vyacheslavovna Mukhortova - Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the SSAU, Master of Sports of International Class Powerlifting, Master of Sports international class bodybuilding IFBB, Elite of Russia; Nikolay Petrovich Golovin - chairman of the trade union organization of students of the SSAU, chairman of the regional branch of the All-Russian public movement "Association of Students and Student Associations of Russia" in the Stavropol Territory and others.

From the university torchbearers will do the route with a total length of 4.8 km. The final point of the route will be Lenin Square of the regional center. The last fire of the World Winter Universiade will be carried by Vladimir Vladimirovich Vladimirov, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, and will light the Bowl.
