Stavropol State Agrarian University was visited by a leading expert on resource-saving technologies in the poultry industry Irina Pavlovna Saleeva

On the basis of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Stavropol State Agrarian University there was a meeting of the rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev with the head of the laboratory of poultry meat production technology of the Federal Scientific Center "All-Russian Research and Technological Institute of Poultry Farming" (VNITIP), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Irina Pavlova Saleeva.

Irina Pavlovna is a well-known animal scientist, whose main research results are related to the development of resource-saving technologies for growing and maintaining poultry. She is the author of the idea of introducing the technology of growing broilers on heated floors. This technology was improved in VNITIP for number years, and in 2015 the institute received a gold medal for it in the nomination “Innovative developments in the agro-industrial complex” at the agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn”. Many developments by I.P. Saleeva are reflected in the “Concept of the poultry industry development in the Russian Federation for the period 2013–2020”.

The purpose of the visit was to review the implementation of two state contracts with the Ministry of Agriculture of Stavropol Territory on the topics: “Developing a technology to use a complex of ultraviolet irradiators of a new open type with zoneless lamps with the possibility of using poultry in the presence of embryos to ensure optimal sanitary and hygienic housing conditions (Stage I)" and "Development of technology and justification of the use of heat energy recuperators for growing and containing livestock animals with intensive technology in order to obtain economically viable organic products (stage I)."

The rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev conducted a tour of the faculties of veterinary medicine and technological management for Irina Pavlovna, introduced her the capabilities of the university, laboratories and scientific developments of scientists of the faculty, material and technical base.

Scientific and technological achievements of the university were presented by: Vitaly Y. Morozov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the State Agrarian University, professors of the Department of Private Zootechny, Animal Breeding and Selection Elena Edumakhovna and Sergey Oleinik.

During the meeting, many topical issues of development of the poultry industry were raised, including: broiler growing technologies, the use of electro-activated water in the poultry industry, the processing of poultry house air, disinfection of hatching eggs and equipment, and many others. In addition, the graduate students of the faculty were able to discuss with Irina Pavlovna the results of their research and the key points of writing their dissertations.
