Eco-quest "Pure academic research farm"

On October 18, on the basis of the faculties of ecology and landscape architecture and agrobiology and land resources of Stavropol State Agrarian University, the eco-quest “Pure academic research farm” passed under the auspices of the All-Russian ecological project “Pure games”.

19 teams of second-year students of both faculties with their supervisors took part in the quest. Also Stepanenko E.E., associate professor of the department of ecology and landscape construction and Zakrasnyanaya V.Yu., assistant of the department of ecology and landscape construction, were directly involved.

The academic research farm is carrying out work on the scientific substantiation of measures in the field of agriculture, crop production, animal husbandry, resource-saving technologies. Vegetable and berry crops are cultivated on the plots of the experimental station. Therefore, the clean area of educational and experimental farm is an important condition.

“Pure Games” is an environmental and educational project that allows participants to contribute to the purification of the environment and learn the basics of separate waste disposal. It is aimed, first of all, at a non-standard method of education for people of all ages - through games.

Participants immediately see the result of their efforts: a lot of bags of garbage collected in a short time. The main idea of eco-quests is to put activities aimed at bringing serious benefits to nature in a game form. At the games, people clean up natural objects, teaming up and competing. Teams collect trash and get points for it. Collected separately garbage brings more points. Subsequently, it is recycled. The winner is the team that collects more trash. In order to enhance the gaming component, and for the participants to display as many personal qualities as possible, “check-ins” (geolocation marks on the Internet) with photos of cleared sites, photo-hunt, riddles, search among debris of unusual items - “artifacts” are introduced.

The organizers of the eco-quest in Stavropol Territory are students of the 2nd course of the direction of landscape gardening and landscape construction Pavel Bogdanov, Anastasia Pavlenko. The direct organizers of the quest “Pure academic research farm” are: Associate Professor of the Department of Land Management and Cadastre - Stukalo Vladimir Alexandrovich and 4th year student of the direction Ecology and Nature Management - Kasyanova Tatiana.

According to the results of the eco-quest, the 3rd place was taken by the 2 nd course team in the Ecology and Environmental Management direction - Ecolife. The second place was taken by the Marvel team, in which students of the direction of the City Cadastre took part. And the honorable first place was taken by the students of the direction of landscape gardening and landscape construction with their team of professionals in the collection and sorting of garbage - "Landscape gardeners". As a prize, all the winning teams were awarded tickets to the cinema. The received prizes caused excitement among the participants of the competition, because the tickets allowed them to visit the novelty of this season - thriller “Venom”.

In total, 167 bags of garbage were collected, of which 60 kilograms of mixed garbage, 58 kilograms of plastic, 12 kilograms of scrap metal, 37 kilograms of glass, 2 kilograms of batteries and 26 tires.
