Master Class for Students of Economics

On October 30, 2018, an interactive lesson on the topic “Growing non-oil exports as a key modern trend” was held at the Faculty of Economics of Stavropol State Agrarian University, which was conducted by the expert on working with exporters of the Russian Export Centre of Stavropol - Odarich Stanislav Viktorovich. The event was organized for students of the direction "Economics" of 1 - 4 courses, profiles "World Economy" and "Economics of Enterprises and Organizations" by teachers of the Department of Entrepreneurship and World Economy Assistant Professor Orel Yu.V. and associate professor Vorobeva N.V. The need for growth in non-commodity exports in accordance with the May decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On the national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024” is currently receiving a great deal of attention. The significance of this area of regional development and the specifics of its implementation in the Stavropol Territory was devoted to a master class from one of the leading experts in the field of foreign economic activity, representing REC - an organization that is a state export support institute. During the meeting, Stanislav Viktorovich spoke about the tasks and activities of the REC, which helps Russian producers to promote their products abroad with state funds. In the class of professional skill, students got acquainted with the main products of REC, such as customer choice, product insurance, as well as its certification and licensing, financing of foreign and domestic exhibitions. Stanislav Viktorovich expanded the knowledge of future specialists in the use of tools to identify the main exporters of the Stavropol Territory and the most important countries-importers of Stavropol products. In the form of a dialogue, the work of permanently functioning pavilions in such countries as the UAE (Dubai), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) and China (Shanghai) was described, and promising areas of export activity were discussed. The interactive lesson contributed not only to the deepening of students' knowledge in the sphere of foreign economic relations, but also contributed to the development of competences in the field of organization of export operations.
