Hand in hand with production

In early November 2018, Maxim Sigida, Head of the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology, Stavropol State Agrarian University, and Associate Professor Yevgeniy Golosnoy conducted a field practical session for participants of the Department’s student scientific society in the Dobrovolnoye Limited Liability Company of the Ipatovsky District.

In the course of the practical training, meetings were held with the solution of practical tasks under the leadership of the chief agronomist Vladimir Brovkov and the agronomist on plant protection Dmitry Panshyuk, graduates of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources.

The children were asked questions about the features of the cultivation of crops in terms of no-till technology, methods of optimizing the cultivation of field crops in conditions of intensive irrigation technologies. On an area of 1,200 hectares, work was carried out to diagnose winter wheat sowings to optimize nutritional conditions in the autumn period, soil and plant samples were taken, which were transferred to the Agrochemical Analysis laboratory on the same day to establish reserves of productive moisture, nitrate nitrogen and make decisions on adjusting the scheme of autumn nutrition of winter crops.
