Expanding the horizons of cooperation

On behalf of the Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor V.I. Trukhachev, a group of employees of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, headed by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor of the RAS A.N. Esaulko visited Gorsky State Agrarian University in Vladikavkaz with a working visit.

In order to expand the scope of cooperation between the state agrarian universities of Stavropol and Vladikavkaz, on November 2, 2018 Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Esaulko A.N. Accompanied by the director of the teaching and experimental farm of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Voskoboinikov A.V. and associate professor of the department of production and processing of food from vegetable raw materials, candidate of agricultural sciences Aysanova T.S. visited Gorsky State Agrarian University.

During the meeting of our employees with the leadership of Gorsky State Agrarian University in the person of the rector, Professor V. Temirayev and Dean of the Agronomy Faculty, Associate Professor Lazarov .K. Key perspective directions of cooperation of universities in the field of fruit growing and nursery, as well as potato breeding and seed growing were discussed.

After a conversation with the Rector of the university, accompanied by the Dean of the Agronomic Faculty of Gorsky State Agrarian University T. Lazarov. Our employees visited a training fruit nursery, where the candidate of agricultural sciences, Professor Gazdanov A.V. held a tour. During the conversation, the head of the nursery told our scientists about the varietal composition of saplings grown in the nursery, about the collection varietal garden, including 102 varieties of apple trees, more than 20 varieties of pears and much more. An inspection of the production capacity of the nursery and seedlings was carried out. At the end of the conversation, Professor A.S. and Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Aisanov T.S. discussed with the management of the nursery the prospects for buying seedlings of various varieties of pome seeds and stone fruit crops in order to expand the assortment of the garden cultivated in the territory of the farm of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

After that, a delegation from our university visited the bulkhead storehouse of the laboratory of biotechnology at Gorsky State Agrarian University, where the head of the plant growing department was Dr. S.S. Basiev. demonstrated the main achievements of the breeding work of the laboratory, and showed the tubers of the hybrid lines, which are currently in a variety test. Director of Educational and Experimental Economy Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Voskoboinikov A.V. inspected the achievements of scientists of Gorsky State Agrarian University in the field of potato breeding, as a result of which a preliminary agreement was reached with the management of Gorsky Agrarian University on conducting variety trials of potato varieties and hybrids bred at the experimental station of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

As noted by the deans of faculties, such meetings contribute to strengthening not only business, but also friendly relations. Having outlined the main prospects for further cooperation, the colleagues decided to continue and strengthen the work in this direction.
