On November 7, 2018, an open lecture “Business. What shall we do?” took place at the Economic Faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University. It was read by the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Stavropol Territory, Kirill Alexandrovich Kuzmin.
An open lecture for students of different areas of training for the 3rd and 4th years of the Faculty of Economics was timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of the Economist, celebrated in Russia on November 11. In addition, the lecture was held on the eve of the World Entrepreneurship Week, which in 2018 starts on November 12th. These events determined the topic of the lecture, in which Kirill Alexandrovich revealed his vision of the essence of entrepreneurial activity, its driving forces, types of business in the system of public relations. However, such complex elements of the theory of entrepreneurship were very interestingly presented from the standpoint of a practitioner who daily encounters the problems of running a real business in modern economic conditions.
The second part of the lecture “Business. What shall we do?” was directly devoted to answering the question. Kirill Alexandrovich expanded the ideas of future specialists about the most promising trends in the transformation of economic activities, the so-called “growth points” of business. The lecturer paid special attention to the need to strengthen the civic position of entrepreneurs, without which improving the business climate in our region and the country as a whole is simply impossible.
The open lecture contributed not only to the deepening of students' knowledge of the subject “Entrepreneurship”, which is relevant for all areas of training, but also to the development of their economic thinking as the basis for the formation of professional competencies.
