At the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources of the Stavropol State Agrarian University for students of the 4th year of the course “Food from herbal raw materials”, a public lecture was held on the topic “The history of viticulture and winemaking in the world”. The lecture was held by the deputy director of the State Public Institution "Stavropolvingradplodoprom" Lysenko Alexey Sergeevich.

For the purpose of more in-depth training of specialists for the grape growing region, the Stavropol State Agrarian University signed an agreement with the State Public Institution "Stavropolvinogradplodoprom" on conducting a series of classes for students of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th courses of the course "Food from vegetable raw materials".

Lectures for students are given both by the staff of the institution and by the managers and specialists of the region’s grape-growing enterprises.

As part of the agreement concluded on November 8, 2018, Deputy Director of the State Public Institution "Stavropolvingradplodoprom" Lysenko A.S. He told the students of the Agrarian University about the history of viticulture and winemaking in the world.

These activities began in ancient times (the Eneolithic), when, after a long period of “collective” farming, wild grapes were introduced to the crop. The open lecture was devoted to the pioneers of viticulture and winemaking in world history, people who were at the forefront of the culture of the wine-making industry, as well as leading countries for the production of grapes and wine.

The lecture was attended by the winemaker-specialist of the State Public Institution “Stavropolvivradplodoprom” Galina Storozhenko, as well as teachers of the department of production and processing of food products from vegetable raw materials.
