The forum was attended not only by members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, but also by representatives of federal ministries, departments, large corporations. The Academician-Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yury Fedorovich Lachuga addressed the audience with the opening speech.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Leonidovich Ivanov presented to his colleagues a report on the scientific support for the implementation of the Strategy for the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation on the priority “Transition to a highly productive and environmentally friendly agricultural and aquatic economy, development and implementation of systems for the rational use of chemical and biological protection of plants and animals, storage and efficient processing of agricultural products, the creation of safe and high-quality, including functional, food. ”

Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, Rector of the State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the Association of Agrarian Universities of Russia “Agricultural Education”, spoke on the topic of “Training for digital agriculture: status and prospects”. In his report, Vladimir Ivanovich focused the attention of listeners on the provisions of the “May decree” of President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin concerning the Digital Economy direction, namely: “ensuring the training of highly qualified personnel for the digital economy” and “transforming priority sectors of the economy, including education and rural economy, through the introduction of digital technologies and platform solutions. "

- By 2024, it is planned that in agriculture 20% of jobs will be directly related to digital technologies, - said V.I. Trukhachev. “But according to the survey, 54% of respondents noted that today the system of training for digital agriculture requires a significant change. And although in the system of agricultural education there are already positive practices of creating design and training laboratories related to digital technologies, there are still some difficulties arising in the process of training for digital agriculture.

On behalf of all agricultural universities in Russia, the Chairman of the Association "Agro-education" V.I. Trukhachev presented proposals for the development of the system of additional professional education in the field of digital agriculture, which were hotly supported by academic colleagues.
