New training gardens at Stavropol State Agrarian University

In order to strengthen the material and technical base and practice-oriented teaching methods for training specialists in the agricultural sector on the territory of the experimental station of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, an intensive fruit orchard of 1.2 hectares was laid.

Thanks to the support of the Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor V.I. Trukhachev at the experimental station of the SSAU a training garden was laid. More than 1000 seedlings of various cultures were planted on the territory of 1.2 hectares.

Measures to expand the area of fruit and berry and grape plantations, as well as the significant diversity of species and varieties grown in these areas, brought the experimental station to the level of the main base for practical training of students in the “Agronomy” training area (“Fruit and Vegetable Growing”, "Plant Protection").

In order to increase the effectiveness of practice-oriented classes in the territory of the Uchkhoz, the collection of apple trees Florin, Golden Delicious and Modi, the Talgar beauty and Saint Germain pears, which are already cultivated at the current time in the fruit sector of seed crops, have been replenished. In addition, students of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources together with the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Esaulko A.N. and associate professors Aisanov T.S., Stukalo V.A. and Voskoboinikov A.V. seedlings of stone fruit were planted: home-grown plum cultivars Burbank and the President, as well as the cultivar Gregory Lebedev.

Planted seedlings, thanks to the initiative of the rector of the SSAU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor V.I. Trukhachev in the framework of expanding the areas of cooperation, were brought from the training fruit nursery of Gorsky State Agrarian University in Vladikavkaz.

Now, students will have even more opportunities to conduct practical practical exercises, and university staff will provide the basis for conducting research and experiments.
