November 14, 2018 at the Stavropol State Agrarian University a student scientific-practical conference "A Day in History", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, was held.
The conference discussed the most controversial issues related to the First World War, including, for example, the socio-political situation in the Russian Empire in the final stages of the war; Europe and the world after the First World War; the modern meaning of the historical memory of the Great War, which in our country is also called the “forgotten”.
During the years of Soviet power, it was really not customary to recall this large-scale armed confrontation - as a result, a whole layer of history was actually removed from national identity. In recent years, researchers have been actively working to revive the memory of the events of the First World War. Similar activities are carried out at the Department of Philosophy and History, the team of which became the organizer of this event.
The conference was actively attended by students of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, economic and electric power faculties, as well as students of the faculty of secondary vocational education. Of particular interest to the conference were students of the faculty of social and cultural services and tourism, preparing historical messages and reports.
