On November 20-21, an interregional conference “Development of financial literacy: managerial and pedagogical experience” took place in Pyatigorsk. The event was organized by the Regional Financial Literacy Center and the North Caucasus Institute - a branch of the RANEPA.
The conference was attended by experts from Moscow, Tatarstan, Saratov, Arkhangelsk and Tomsk regions, Altai Territory, as well as the republics of the North Caucasus.
The delegation from Stavropol State Agrarian University included Deputy Director of the Institute of Advanced Professional Education Pankratov Andrey Viktorovich, Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking Yulia Sklyarova, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking Lapina Elena Nikolaevna, Associate Professor of the Department of Entrepreneurship and World Economy Natalia Telnova.
Welcoming the participants of the conference, Azamat Borisovich Tlisov, Director of the North-Caucasian Institute of the RANEPA, noted that the Interregional Methodological Center for Financial Literacy of the System of General and Secondary Vocational Education of the North Caucasus Federal District is conducting post-program support for 1000 trained teachers of Stavropol Territory.
The Strategic Coordinator of the Project of the Ministry of Finance of Russia “Promoting the Improvement of Financial Literacy of the Population and the Development of Financial Education in the Russian Federation” Anna Zelentsova in her report spoke about international cooperation and the experience of other countries in implementing financial education programs. Anna Zelentsova emphasized that, according to the results of sociological research, adolescents in Russia demonstrate the most significant increase in the level of understanding of financial literacy among the participating countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which is actively promoted by the new system of financial education for children and youth.
Consultant of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Elena Sergeevna Ilyina told about the adopted Strategy for the development of financial literacy in Russia.
Deputy Chairman of the Government of Stavropol Territory - Finance Minister of Stavropol Territory Larisa Kalinchenko said that today in each of the 640 schools of the region there are teachers trained in financial programs, but the experience of other regions shows that for the most effective process it is necessary to teach this subject twice as many teachers. Separately, Larisa Kalinchenko noted the importance of the continuity of the process of improving their skills, the introduction of new methods of working with students, the interregional exchange of practices of teaching.
In the framework of the expert session: “Introduction into practice of educational organizations of materials and educational programs on financial literacy: the pedagogical aspect”, First Deputy Minister of Education of Stavropol Territory Natalia Alexandrovna Lavrova shared her experience in introducing programs on financial literacy into the educational process.
In his report, the Director of the Institute of Additional Professional Education of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Andrei Viktorovich Pankratov, spoke about the peculiarities of the regional center for teaching tutors for the adult population and the formation of a contingent of consultants and methodologists in financial literacy of the North Caucasus Federal District as part of the federal project.
Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova, Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, and Elena Nikolaevina Lapina, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, during her presentation on the topic “Agrarian University as a Regional Center for the Development of Youth Volunteer Programs for Financial Education” shared their experience in developing the volunteer movement at the university, highlighted the main activities and projects of the student volunteer group Financier to improve the financial literacy of young people in schools, orphanages, secondary schools and universities of Stavropol region through thematic classes, business games, trainings, master classes, quests and financial tournaments, as well as consulting assistance to young people in the field of financial education.
At expert sessions, the conference participants were also able to get acquainted with practical developments in terms of educational work with students on the development of financial literacy, including the development of personal communication and dialogue interaction techniques, and discussed the best regional practices.
