Students of Stavropol State Agrarian University won the Grand Prix at the 7th International Conference "Vavilov Readings - 2018"

On November 22, 2018, the 7th International Vavilov Student Olympiad was held at Saratov State Agrarian University, dedicated to the 131st anniversary of the birth of Academician N. I. Vavilov. Thanks to the support of the Rector of the University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, the team of Stavropol State Agrarian University is a permanent participant of this event.

18 teams from all over Russia took part in a bitter struggle: Saratov State Agrarian University, Stavropol State Agrarian University, Orlov State Agrarian University, Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine named after N.E. Bauman, Michurinsky State Agrarian University, Penza State Agrarian University, Samara State Agricultural Academy, Kazan State Agrarian University, Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev and Volgograd State Agrarian University.

The participants of the Olympiad were greeted and wished good luck in the upcoming difficult struggle by the vice rector for educational and social work of Saratov State Agrarian University Popova O.M., the vice rector for science and innovation activity Vorotnikov I.L. and the dean of the agronomical faculty N. Shyurova.

At the opening ceremony of the Olympiad, each team appeared before the competent jury with its business card.

This year, Stavropol State Agrarian University was represented by a team led by associate professor of the Department of General Agriculture, Plant Growing and Breeding. named after F.I. Bobryshev Olga Georgievna Shabaldas, 3rd year student of Agronomy Myagkov Nikita, 2nd year student of the Agronomy direction Vladimir Boyko and 2nd year student of the Ecology and Nature Management Orekhova Tatyana.

After the opening ceremony, the teams began the trials of the Olympiad itself. In the office named after academician N.I. Vavilov participants performed the most difficult team assignments and took part in the individual championship, as well as a captains competition and a computer quiz.

In the individual standings, the first place was shared by Boyko Vladimir and Orekhov Tatyana, Myagkov Nikita got an honorable second place.

In the competition of captains the captain of our team Orekhova Tatiana took the second place.

And for the second time the team won the Grand Prix of the International Vavilov Olympiad! Prizes were distributed as follows: 1st place - Saratov State Agrarian University; 2 place - Kazan GAU; 3rd place - RGAU-ICSA named after K.A. Timiryazev.

To achieve the goal, our children had to work hard and do their best.

Congratulations to our students and the Agrarian University with another achievement, which undoubtedly was a clear confirmation of perseverance, active life position and hard work! We wish the winners further success and good luck in all your endeavors!
