Best business practices in the field of tourism and arts and crafts discussed at Stavropol State Agrarian University

On December 5, 2018, at the initiative of the non-profit organization “Entrepreneurship Support Fund in the Stavropol Territory” at Stavropol State Agrarian University, a webinar on “Exchange of experience with other subjects of the Russian Federation: business leaders as mentors and mentors” was held. The purpose of this event was to discuss the best business practices in the field of tourism, eco-tourism and folk art trades, in particular the practices of the implementation of gastronomic tours, eco-tours, quest tours, the creation of ethno-ecological complexes in the regions and other topics.

At the webinar were:

- President of the Association “The Most Beautiful Villages and Towns of Russia”, Head of the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development, Professor at the Department of Agrarian Tourism at the Russian State Agrarian University-Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, Doctor of Economics; Council of Europe expert on cultural routes - Alexander Valeryevich Merzlov (Moscow) with the theme “The most beautiful villages and towns of Russia”;

- the guide-ecologist of the Eco Tour LLC (Sochi) Olga Zhuykova with the theme “Another Look at Ecological Tourism”;

- project manager of the tourism and recreation cluster, director of Yasna LLC (Chuvashia Republic, Cheboksary district, Kshaushi village) Marina Fedorova, who presented the Yasna ethno-ecological complex as a centre for the development of ecological, rural, ethno and educational tourism;

- Employees of Own Company LLC (Rostov), who presented a set of tour quests they are implementing;

- Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Business Technologies in Tourism and Hospitality of FSBEI HE "RGUTIS", Editor-in-Chief of the Scientific and Practical Journal "Modern Problems of Service and Tourism" (Moscow) Oleg Evgenievich Afanasyev with the theme "Creating a tourist complex on base of the organization of national art crafts ";

- Head of the Siberian Gambit tourist club (Krasnoyarsk), operating under the Growth Support Fund for Social and Economic Development - Alexander Sergeyevich Sirotinin with the presentation “Attraction of Siberia and specifics of organizing domestic and inbound tourism in the segment of active tours”;

- The author of the idea and coordinator of the federal project “Gastronomic Map of Russia”, a specialist and author in the field of developing tourism products and services in the field of tourism, the head of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Agroecotourism” (Moscow) Ekaterina Urlina-Shapovalova with the theme “Gastronomic Tourism and Gastronomic Map of Russia” .

A lively discussion was caused by the interaction of tour operators and travel agencies, the support of commercial tourism organizations, as well as marketing tools for development in conditions of limited financial resources. The participants saw the business development perspective in the integration of the efforts of entrepreneurs and the authorities, as well as in active interaction with all organizations that stimulate entrepreneurial activity. According to the participants of the webinar, the event was useful, first of all, for start-up entrepreneurs, as well as those who are currently experiencing certain difficulties in developing their own tourism business.
