On December 7, on the basis of the accounting and financial faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, a regional business marathon “The potential for the development of small and micro businesses in the Stavropol Territory” was held with the participation of the Deputy Director of the Small and Medium Business Department of “Rosselkhozbank” Alexey Aleksandrovich. During the meeting, Alexey Alexandrovich noted the uniqueness of the classroom fund available at the university, and wished the students professional success.
Speaking about the prospects for the development of agriculture, Alexey Alexandrovich noted that now, against the background of sanctions and import substitution, a large number of people will be engaged in agriculture. All indicators are growing: this is the yield, and the size of agricultural land. The bank constantly monitors the situation, constantly communicates with customers, sees their needs.
During the discussion of areas of cooperation development, the Director of “Rosselkhozbank”, Tikhomirova Zoya Dmitrievna, emphasized the need to merge the theoretical knowledge of students with practical skills possessed by the current employees of the bank.
“The students received an impulse to expand the boundaries of core knowledge and professional competencies during their studies, and teachers received an improved material and technical base to ensure the training of graduates and professionals,” said Dean of the Accounting and Finance Faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Elena Ivanovna Kostyukova. - Of course, our rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, thanks to which the strategic cooperation with “Rosselkhozbank” has reached a new level, opening up great opportunities for students, provides great support.
Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova, Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, Doctor of Economics, Professor, emphasized the importance of holding such meetings with business partners for the faculty and the university as a whole.
A vivid demonstration of students' professional skills was the business game “Organization of a Credit Transaction by a Commercial Bank”, presented by the 4th year team of the Accounting and Finance Faculty of the Finance and Credit training profile under the guidance of Sobchenko N.V., Department of Financial Management and Banking, imitating the full range of activities the borrower of the bank and employees of the credit institution for issuing a loan to a legal entity. Any credit transaction begins with the application of a potential client, which is reviewed by a credit department specialist. After a preliminary assessment of the possibility of issuing a loan, the application is considered at the bank’s credit committee, where specialists from the marketing, economic security, and psychologist departments speak, expressing their opinion on the advisability of issuing a loan to this borrower. The final stage is the signing of a loan agreement between the bank and the borrower and the issuance of a loan.
One of the tools for further development of partnership relations between the bank and the university was the additional educational program “Technology for assessing and analyzing the creditworthiness of agricultural producers: theory and practice”, implemented by the Agricultural Bank for students of Stavropol State Agrarian University. The program, which started on December 7, 2018, is designed for a calendar year and will end on December 20, 2019.
Lecturers were Plotnikov Sergey Ivanovich, head of the analysis and evaluation of credit projects of “Rosselkhozbank” and Shchedrina Natalya Alekseevna, head of the department on work with clients of Small and Medium Business of “Rosselkhozbank”.
The first participants of the project were students of the Departments of Mechanization of Agriculture, Accounting and Finance, Electric Power.
Students of all faculties of the university can become students of the program.
