Students of Agrarian University studied the achievements of breeding fruit crops

Employees of the department of production and processing of food products from plant raw materials of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Romanenko E.S. and Aisanov T.S. with the students of the “Agronomy” direction took part in the regional seminar “The problems of variety testing of fruit, berry crops and grapes in the conditions of the Stavropol Territory. New and promising varieties and hybrids of fruit and berry crops of domestic breeding ".

The regional seminar was held on the basis of the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Agrarian Center. The event was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, Stavropolvinogradplodoprom and the leading fruit-growing and viticultural organizations of the region.

Opening the meeting, first Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Oleinikov A.Yu. made a presentation on the current state of the fruit-growing and viticulture industry of the region, and also outlined the directions in which the specialists in this area need to strengthen the work. Then, the seminar participants heard the reports of the specialists of the State Committee on the Stavropol Territory, the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Center for Horticulture, Viticulture and Wine-Making on the features of selection of fruit crops and grapes and the achievements of domestic and foreign selection.

In conclusion, the most promising immune varieties of apples and pears, as well as table and technical grapes with enhanced frost resistance, were presented.
