On December 10, the Interethnic Council of the Stavropol State Agrarian University visited the play “I will return, mother ...”, dedicated to the memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Umar Khabekov, in the framework of the festival “Adygsky world”, which is held by the Circassian cultural center “Adygi”. And the next day, members of the council took part in an event dedicated to the International Day of Mountains, which was held in the art gallery of P.M. Grechishkina.
The task of the play “I will come back, mother ...” was to familiarize residents with the feat of Hero of the Soviet Union Umar Khabekov, foster a sense of patriotism, interest in the history of their native land and love for their Fatherland.
On April 3, 1945, in battles for the capital of Austria, Vienna, a battalion commanded by Umar Khabekov freed five hundred Soviet and four hundred French prisoners of war, and on the night of April 9, 1945 destroyed up to two hundred enemy soldiers and officers, captured about one hundred and fifty Germans, captured four anti-aircraft guns and six machine guns.
This exciting plot, a great game of actors and a number of special effects kept the audience in suspense throughout the performance.
The event dedicated to the International Day of Mountains, held in the art gallery of landscapes P.M. Grechishkina, was organized by the Ethnic Student Council of the North Caucasus Federal University.
Dances of the peoples of the mountains, national treats, live music - everything was saturated with a special color.
A quiz on the theme “Mountains of the Caucasus” was held, in which representatives of the Interethnic Council of Stavropol State Agrarian University adequately spoke and won prizes.
