Extra-mural Training in the museum "Stavropolvinogradplodoproma"

The 4th year students of the “Food from plant materials”of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources of the Stavropol State Agrarian University visited the open museum exposition “The history of the viticulture and winemaking industry of Stavropol” in the state institution “Stavropolvinogradplodoprom”.

As you know, the history of the industry of viticulture and winemaking is as old and interesting as the history of humanity itself. Grapes are one of the oldest cultural fruit climbing plants that appeared on earth many millions of years ago.

An employee of the state institution “Stavropolvinogradplodoprom” and a supervisor of the museum exposition “The history of the Stavropol viticulture and winemaking industry” Lyubenko Lyubov Vladimirovna told students about the history and state of viticulture and winemaking in the Russian Federation and in the Stavropol Territory.

During the conversation, students learned about the life stories of the founders of viticulture and winemaking in the Russian Empire and the North Caucasus: Lev Sergeevich Golitsyn, Alexei Fyodorovich Rebrov, Viktor Petrovich Skarzhinsky and many others who dedicated their lives to the development of the winegrowing and winemaking industry and achieved significant success in their work due to the highest level of product quality.

Alexey Sergeevich Lysenko, Deputy Director, told the students about the current state of the industry in Russia, gave data on yield and gross grape harvest in 2018, and also outlined the leading regions in the area of grape growing in the Stavropol Territory.In the second part of the event, a small quiz was organized by Lyubov Vladimirovna and the staff of the department of production and processing of food products from vegetable raw materials. Students answered questions on the subject with interest, for which they were awarded with tasty prizes.
