At the accounting and finance faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University, on the basis of the Insurance Shop laboratory, a round table was held on the topic: “Agricultural insurance vectors in Stavropol Territory”

At the accounting and finance faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University on the basis of the laboratory "Insurance shop" there was held a round table on the theme: "The vectors of agricultural insurance in Stavropol Territory." The event was organized by the Finance, Credit and Insurance Department together with the branch of JSC IC RSHB-Insurance in Stavropol.

The director of the branch of JSC IC RSHB-Insurance in Stavropol Yakovenko Petr Aleksandrovich, the faculty and students of the accounting and financial faculty - 3 year students of the specialty "Economic Security", 1 year students of the profile "Finance and Credit".

The purpose of the event is the development of research skills on topical issues of agricultural insurance in Russia for undergraduate and graduate students. Objectives are to identify current trends in the development of agricultural insurance in Russia and its regions, to identify patterns in the development of regional markets for agricultural risk insurance, in particular the role of Stavropol Territory in the development of agricultural insurance in the country in dynamics and comparison with other regions, to consider current and prospective management mechanisms, in-depth discussion of problems, arising in this area. The relevance of the topic is due to the upcoming changes in the system of agricultural insurance in Russia.

The agricultural insurers at the round table were presented by the director of the branch of JSC IC RSHB-Insurance in the city of Stavropol Yakovenko Petr Aleksandrovich, giving a presentation on the topic: “Directions for the development of agricultural insurance in Stavropol Territory”. In the report, Petr Aleksandrovich revealed several topical issues relating to agricultural insurance in Stavropol Territory, namely, he noted that agricultural insurance with state support plays a key role in ensuring the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex of our country. The Russian farmers come to understand the particular importance of the modern mechanism of compensation for losses in difficult climatic conditions. Stavropol Territory is one of the largest agrarian regions of Russia and the North Caucasus region, which is also subject to significant risks associated with drought, hail, flooding and other adverse events. In the region are contracts of insurance and the harvest, and farm animals. However, the degree of development of insurance protection does not yet correspond to the agrarian potential of the region.

The event discussed the current problems of the industry and their solutions: agricultural insurance models used in different countries: indices, risk sets, franchises, subsidies and economic incentives for insurance; list of agricultural products included in agricultural insurance; the role and models of various administrative centers in agricultural insurance.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions of interest to the representative of the insurance company: What regulatory acts regulate agricultural insurance? How much is agricultural insurance demanded in Stavropol region? What crops insure agricultural producers of Stavropol Territory? Does Stavropol Territory conclude contracts for the insurance of farm animals? What animals do agricultural producers insure?

At the end of the event, students were invited for an internship at the branch of IC IC "RSHB-Insurance" in the city of Stavropol.
