Economic Olympiad

The Olympiad on the subject “World Economy and International Economic Relations” under the guidance of Associate Professor Yu.V. Orel was held at the Department of Entrepreneurship and World Economy of Stavropol State Agrarian University. The Olympiad was held in two rounds in the format of “Its own game” and a visual task.

On December 25, 2018, 2 nd year students of the Faculty of Economics of the “Economics” course of study, “Economics of enterprises and organizations” and “World economy” profiles took part in the subject Olympiad. The purpose of the event was to consolidate the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired during the study of the discipline, which allowed students to assess their abilities and consolidate the material studied.

In modern conditions of global changes in the sphere of foreign economic relations, general economic knowledge is not enough, therefore, a deeper study of the world economy and international economic relations is necessary. Conducting the Olympiad allowed students to form comprehensive and scientific ideas about the fundamentals, patterns and current trends in the development of a market economy in individual countries, regions and in the world economy as a whole.

All students coped with the tasks, demonstrating readiness to participate in foreign economic activity, ingenuity and ability to work in small groups. According to the results of the competition, the teams were awarded prizes.
