From January 10 to January 14, volunteers from the Highlanders project, aimed at developing a sustainable, conscious attitude towards national biases, attitudes and stereotypes, were trained in Pyatigorsk. The project is organized by the non-profit organization "Star Wind". Among the organizers there were a first-year student at the Faculty of Economics of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Anastasia Prydchenko, an activist from the volunteer group “Volunteer”, and Inna Kuliyeva, a graduate student of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization, head of the Volunteer Unit Headquarters.
The training program included trainings with a psychologist on the topic “Personal Behavior Correction”, where volunteers learned about the features of working with the project’s target audience, workshops for first aid and training ascent to Mashuk mountain and Beshtau.
An important aspect of the project was the training of participants in everyday self-service skills in living conditions at the camp base and in hiking conditions.
