On February 1, 2019, Mikhail Mikhailovich Kotyukov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Ivan Vнфсруыдфмщмшср Lebedev, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, met with student activists from Stavropol. 150 students of Stavropol State Agrarian University attended the event, which was held in the form of an open dialogue.
The meeting was attended by the Rector of the University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev.
The students had the opportunity to ask the distinguished guests any question that interested them.
Victoria Svetlichnaya, deputy chairman of the primary trade union organization of students at Stavropol State Agrarian University, asked: “How do you, Mikhail Mikhailovich, look at that practical training and pre-diploma practice equated to work experience?”
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the country responded that the employer’s confidence plays a big role in this matter, that is, when having practical training, the employer sees the student’s qualifications and skills and, based on this, decides whether to take him on to work or not.
The first year Master degree program student, the head of the volunteer group “Volunteer” of Stavropol State Agrarian University Inna Kuliyeva asked, “Is it possible to consider the question that the volunteer experience in certain areas was taken into account when applying for a job?”. Mikhail Mikhailovich supported this initiative, noting that the voluntary direction should develop more and more in Russia.
A student of the Hospitality and Tourism Faculty, Oksana Polyakova asked a question regarding the allocation of budget places in the direction of study “Service and Tourism”.
In general, the meeting was held in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, the guests answered the numerous questions of the students in details and openly.
