Open lecture from a strategic partner

For practical training and further employment of undergraduate and graduate students of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources in the areas of Agronomy training, a group of Irrico companies held a public lecture as a strategic partner of the University.

In order to create conditions for professional activity and effective use of graduates’ potential, as well as organization of systematic work and striving for career growth and employment in accordance with the received specialty at the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, an open lecture was held for students of the “Agronomy” direction together with Irrico . The dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Esaulko Alexander Nikolaevich officially opened the event; Alexander Aleksandrovich Petrov, Director General of Irriko Company, and Grigorgy Nikolayevich Smetanin, First Deputy Director General for Production, also addressed the students.

Irriko Group of Companies is an agricultural enterprise of the Stavropol Territory with the largest irrigated land in Russia. The total sown area is 25 thousand hectares, under irrigation - 6.5 thousand hectares (5.1 thousand hectares in LLC SHP Agroinvest and 1.4 thousand hectares in LLC JV Dzhalga). The enterprises of the group of companies are located on the territory of Ipatovsky, Apanasenkovsky and Petrovsky districts of the Stavropol Territory (LLC “Agricultural Enterprise Agroinvest”, LLC JV “Djalga”, LLC “Irriko-Holding”). A modern vegetable storage facility with a storage capacity of 8 thousand tons and packing, washing, and sorting lines, allowing to ship more than 400 tons of products per day. The use of modern technologies and precision farming in crop and vegetable production (fertigation, online yield monitoring, “zero” technology, field net, etc.).

The Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources has been cooperating with the Irriko company for a long time in the field of industrial practice, employment, research and contractual work in the field of irrigated agriculture and land reclamation.

During the event, the company’s general director, Petrov Alexander Alexandrovich, told graduates about the conditions of the scholarship program and the conditions for internship and further employment. Irriko actively supports the career growth and development of its employees, directing them to vocational training, specialized conferences and exhibitions, giving preference to the internal replacement of vacant positions in the company. Students are invited to undergo practical training under the guidance of the company’s chief agronomists with years of experience. Valuable experience directly “in the fields” and with modern agricultural technologies. The Irriko company provides a scholarship in the amount of 15 thousand rubles per month from the moment of entering the practice until the moment of its termination. According to the results of the competition, the best trainee will receive an additional prize upon completion of the practice.

During the open lecture, the 4^th year students of the Agronomy direction were given the floor to the nominal scholars of the Irriko company, Aivazov Peter Sergeevich, Akhmedov Ismail Aleskerovich, Borsuk Ivan Evgenievich, who shared their experience of participating in a scholarship program and passing practical training in 2018 in the agricultural enterprises of the group of the company (LLC JV Dzhalga , LLC SHP Agroinvest).

In the process of communication, students were interested in issues of wages, work schedule, annual paid leave, as well as what documents are necessary for employment; what is included in the social package; and what are the prospects for career growth. Then the students were asked to take a survey.
