Head of the Department of Chemistry and Plant Protection of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Anna Petrovna Shutko took part in a selector meeting on the state and characteristics of the phytosanitary situation in winter crops, held in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory under the leadership of Deputy Minister Andrei Yuryevich Oleynikov.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Branch of the Russian Agracultural Center in the Stavropol Territory Vyacheslav Viktorovich Drydiger, the Deputy for plant protection issues Olga Viktorovna Kuznetsova, the Head of the Department of Plant Physiology of the North Caucasian Federal Agrarian Center, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Fedr Vladimirovich Eroshenko, chief agronomists of the regional agricultural departments.
During the event, the sides exchanged views on wintering conditions and the condition of the winter wedge, crop forecasts and phytosanitary risks of the 2019 vegetation season.
A.P. Shutko searched the issues of phytosanitary monitoring and forecasting the development of root rot of winter wheat, gave recommendations on the choice of biologics and fungicides depending on the current phytosanitary situation and weather conditions.
Particular attention was paid to the spread of gibellina rot - a harmful disease of winter wheat. A dialogue took place and an understanding was reached with the main agronomists of the Arzgirsky, Levokumsky, Ipatovsky, Novoselitsky and Sovetsky Districts, where the manifestation of the disease was already detected, about the need for early spring processing of the affected winter wheat crops with biopreparations.
