Continuing education in the field of fruit growing

Associate Professor of the Department of Production and Processing of Food Products from Plant Raw Materials Aisanov T.S. He took part in the work of the International School of Modern Horticulture, organized by the team of the Fruit Plant Association “Stavropol Gardens”.

January 31, the second stage of a series of classes of the International School of Modern Gardening was held. In accordance with the work plan, the first part of the classes was held on the basis of the Fruit Plant Association “Stavropol Gardens”.

The lesson began with a tour of the production units of the farm - refrigerators for storing grafted seedlings and rootstocks prepared for winter copulation, as well as a vaccination workshop. Then the chief agronomist of the nursery, Iulian Smetanke, gave the listeners of the School a master class on the winter vaccination of seedlings. The main technological features of the clonal rootstocks copulation were shown.

The first part of the seminar ended with a theoretical part, where an international consultant in the field of fruit growing, founder of the consulting company «EB Frut Projects BV» Eric Beitenhayz spoke on the features and the need for fruit tree pruning. The second speaker was the director of one of the largest gardening enterprises in Russia, Garden Giant Ingushetia, Balkizov Z.Kh. Zamir Khakyashevich gave information about the methods of effective organization and quality control of pruning in the production conditions of an intensive garden. The event was also attended by Vladimir Alexandrovich Gudkovsky, the leading scientist in the field of fruit and vegetable storage in Russia, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Council of Michurinsk City, science city of the Russian Federation. He spoke about the need for an integrated approach to the organization of the fruit-growing business. Vladimir Alexandrovich emphasized that increasing the economic efficiency of the fruit-growing industry is impossible without creating a scientifically-based modern logistics system that provides for storing fruits using atmospheric regulation installations, which will ensure almost year-round satisfaction of the needs of the country's population with fresh fruits and berries.

The second part of the seminar was held on the basis of a young garden of the Gardens of Karachay-Cherkessia LLC. There, the audience was held a master class on pruning an apple orchard of the second year of life. A consultant from Holland, Erik Baitenhayz, showed the peculiarities of the formation of the crown of trees at the stage of the beginning of fruiting, then the listeners had the opportunity to do their own cutting of trees under the guidance of a foreign expert.

The second part of the field lesson was devoted to the meaning and agrotechnical features of the mechanized pruning of trees in the garden. The workshop participants were shown the assembly for its implementation and disclosed the principles of its setup and operation.

During the seminar, participants asked questions, to which they received comprehensive and informative answers and practical explanations.
