Solemn opening of Students’ Avenue at Stavropol State Agrarian University

On Lenin Street in the regional capital, the grand opening of Students’ Avenue, this is located at the Palace of Students. The celebration was attended by the first persons of the town and region.

The grand opening of Students’ Avenue united students of all Faculties of Stavropol State Agrarian University. More than 2,000 people took part in a landmark historic event.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Vladimirov, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, addressed the students with a welcoming speech.

About 20 years unfinished at this place was surrounded by a fence. And only this year, after completion of the construction of the new building of SSAU and putting in order the territory around it, it became possible to remove the fence. Now there is a wide pedestrian area with benches, lighting and “green” areas - 38 ornamental lindens planted, were bred specifically for the urban environment.

“It is important that there are no long-term construction projects left in Stavropol and in the whole region. Today’s event is another step on this path,”said Vladimir Vladimirovich Vladimirov.

The mayor of the town of Stavropol, a graduate of Stavropol Agricultural Institute (1984) - Andrey Khasanovich Dzhatdoev recalled his student years, at the university, noted the development of Stavropol State Agrarian University. “The new Students’ Avenue will become the favourite place of communication for all students of the town of Stavropol and truly the jewel of the urban environment”.

Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, the Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, congratulated everyone on such a significant historical event in the history of not only the University, but the entire city.

“And today we are opening a boulevard, and after a while we will open this magnificent building. 26 thousand square meters of teaching, laboratory and festive space, this is not similar in the town and region today!”

Also, Vladimir Ivanovich noted the work of the students from the student construction team “Masterok”, who took an active part in the creation of the Students’ Avenue.

After the iconic phrase of the rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University - Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev: “Start dismantling”, the last sections of the construction fence were removed, and Students’ Avenue was opened for all residents and guests of the town of Stavropol, which will be the main place for young people to meet and talk.

Then the guests of honour proceeded along Avenue, discussed further plans for improving the territory and opening the Palace of Students.

The territory of Students’ Avenue is a section of the pedestrian zone on Lenin Street (between Pushkin Street and Zootekhnichesky Lane, next to the new educational and laboratory building of the Faculties of Agronomic and Plant Protection of Stavropol State Agrarian University), paved with decorative paving stones (3961 m2), which houses:

- 28 exclusive designer benches;

- exclusive design rubbish bins in the amount of 28 pieces;

- street lamps with LED lights in the amount of 15 pieces;

- 38 ornamental lindens (each linden is 14 years old), bred for urban environment.
