The forum discussed the role of universities in the harmonization of the global scientific, educational, technological and humanitarian space.
The guests were welcomed by Rector of Moscow State University, President of the Russian Union of Rectors, President of the Eurasian Association of Universities, Academician Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichiy.
The forum held a solemn ceremony of signing memorandums on the creation of scientific and educational consortia in the framework of the program "Vernadskiy".
There were also panel discussions: "The historical role of universities in scientific, educational and cultural development" and "Universities and global challenges of the modern world."
During the forum, Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev delivered a report at the congress of the Russian Union of Rectors. In his speech, Vladimir Trukhachev noted that the Russian Union of Rectors since 1994, under the leadership of Victor Antonovich Sadovnichiy, has become an integral part of the Russian education system, helping universities maintain and enhance the best domestic educational, scientific and cultural traditions in accordance with global challenges.
