Meeting of the Public Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory

Dean of the faculties of agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture, doctor of agricultural sciences, professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences - Alexander Yesaulko took part in the meeting of the Public Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory on the issue "On the state and prospects of seed production in the Stavropol Territory."

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Andrei Y. Oleynikov, the head of the branch of the "Rosselkhoz Center" for the Stavropol Territory Vyacheslav Viktorovich Drydiger, the Deputy Director of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Corn, the Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Sotchenko, the Deputy Director for Research work of the FSBI "North-Caucasus Federal Scientific Agrarian Center", doctor of agricultural sciences, professor Evgenia Ivanovna Godunova, Vasiliy Dubin, Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, "Gossort Commission", Vasiliy Dubin, Director of the Non-Profit Partnership of the Union of Breeders and Seed Producers in the Territory Khusin Kumalovich Boranukov and Chief Agronomist of the collective farm "Rodina" of Novoaleksandrovsky district Nikolai Aleksandrovich Makovkin.

During the meeting, the work of Stavropol breeders on the breeding of original varieties and hybrids was recognized as positive. The speakers noted the complete import independence for cereals, as well as the systematic work of research centers for the development of new varieties of winter wheat.

In addition, attention was drawn to the need to increase the production of sunflower seeds, corn and sugar beets of Russian breeding.

To increase the production of livestock products, the issue of subsidizing the production of forage crops and organizing a specielection and seed production of agricultualized seed farm for their production in the region was raised.

It should be noted that in Stavropol State Agrarian University, training on the master's program "Selection and seed production of agricultural crops" is conducted.
