The exhibition “Crimean Spring of Russia”, devoted to the fifth anniversary of the reunification of the Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia has been opened in the Stavropol State Historical, Cultural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve n.a. G.N. Prospositrev and G.K. Prave. Students of SSAU visited the exhibition.
The students got acquainted with key events in the history of the peninsula over the past two and a half centuries: its entry in 1783 into the Russian Empire, the Crimean War of 1854-1856, the Civil War and the heroic defense of Sevastopol, and improved their knowledge of Russian history. The guys also saw the most rare, interesting specimens in the exposition - copper coins of the Crimean Khanate, dated 1780, as well as authentic samples of weapons from the period of the Crimean War.
Of particular interest to students was the genuine jacket of our countryman, Ivan Alekseevich Burmistrov, the submarine commander, the first of the sailors awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. He was born and raised in Stavropol. One of the city streets is named after him.
An important place in the exposition is occupied by photographs and objects related to the reunification of the Crimea and Russia and presented to the museum by direct participants in the humanitarian operation in Crimea in March-April 2014, as well as collected by the museum staff hot on the heels of these events.
The initiators and organizers of the visit to the local history museum and the exhibition "Crimean Spring of Russia" became the head of the museum of history of the University, O.N. Shmatko and the staff of the Department of Philosophy and History.
