In Stavropol State Agrarian University, the third qualifying championship Young Professionals in terms of Hotel Administration, Agronomy, Prototyping, Entrepreneurship, and Electrical Wiring began its work.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Stavropol Territory I.V. Kuvaldina, Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work of the University I.V. Atanov, Deputy Ministers of Education of the Stavropol Territory D.O. Zhirnov, economic development I.S. Maltsev, agriculture A.Yu. Oleynikov.
Championship competitions will be held at two main sites. According to the competence of "Agronomy" at the teaching and experimental station of the University in the village Demino. For other competencies - in the departments of agricultural mechanization, socio-cultural services and tourism, electricity, and economics.
32 students will show their professional skills at the competition sites. The competition involved 39 certified, independent, technical experts and compatriot experts. These are not only teachers of our University. The experts who came to Stavropol work in higher and secondary vocational schools of Astrakhan, Kazan, Krasnodar, Pyatigorsk and other cities of Russia.
SSAU entered the “Young Professionals” in 2016, with the victory of Fyodor Zavyalik, first in the regional and then in the National Championships on the competence “Prototyping”. It was a trial, but decisive step in the further participation of the university in the Worldskills movement.
In the final of the V National Championship “WorldSkills Russia” held on May 15–18, 2017 in Krasnodar, 4th year student of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization, Maxim Korolevsky, took the 1st place in the competence “Prototyping”.
From October 30 to November 1, 2017, the University held the First All-Russian Sectoral Championship of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on the competence of "Veterinary Medicine". At that time young veterinarians under the age of 28 from 9 subjects of the Russian Federation participated in the competition program.
A landmark event in the finals of the Second National Interuniversity Championship "Young Professionals (Worldskills Russia)", which took place in November 2018 in Moscow, was the victory of 4th year student of the faculty of Social and Cultural Service and Tourism Oksana Polyakova. She took the first place in the competence of “Hotel Administration” and overtook the contestants from such universities as Kazan Federal University, St. Petersburg State University, Sochi State University.
Second-year student of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization Pavel Popov at the same championship took the II place in the competence “Prototyping”.
For the first time in the history of the Worldskills movement, which is more than 60 years old, from 22 to 27 August 2019, the 45th World Professional Skills Championship will take place in Kazan. The 2 nd year student of the Agricultural Mechanization faculty on the direction “Agroengineering” Eduard Samoilov became part of the Russian national team in terms of the competence “Prototyping”.
