Clinical practice on the base of AIC «Miratorg» of the Bryansk region

17.05.2019

The 3rd year students of the specialty "Veterinary", Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, within the framework of strategic cooperation with LLC "Research and Production Enterprise - Center for Biotechnology and Embryo Transplantation", underwent clinical practice in embryology on the base of AIC «Miratorg» of the Bryansk region.

Since 2009, in the Bryansk region, the agro-industrial holding Miratorg, with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, has launched the largest project in Russia for the production of highly productive meat cattle breeds in order to develop domestic meat production and provide Russian consumers with quality beef. To date, this project for the production of cattle meat is the largest in the world in terms of breeding stock of Aberdeen-Angus breed.

In the Trubchevsky district on the Kotlyakovo farm there are 720 heads located on the "Uzh" farm. In the Mglinsky district of the Bryansk region there are 3,086 animals in animals. All arrived animals are clinically healthy and placed for quarantine.

To date, the total livestock of breeding cattle on 16 farms of the agricultural holding in the Bryansk region is 58 thousand heads, of which 2 300 are calves who were born on the Komyagino and Kotlyakovo farms in the Trubchevsk district. In autumn of 2018, the maternal livestock at the Miratorg Agro-Industrial Holding farms in the Bryansk region amounted to 90 thousand heads.

The main practical work of students was carried out on the farm “Uzh” - this is carrying out the insemination of cattle and leaching of embryos. The laboratory conducted a study of the viability of the obtained embryos. The work of the veterinarian also consisted in the selection of animals for further exploitation, ultrasound examination, insemination, leaching of embryos and their transplantation.

Embryology is a science that studies the individual development of an animal organism, as well as the patterns of changes in its morphofunctional state throughout ontogenesis. It includes certain sections of cytology, histology, genetics and molecular biology.

In the process of working on the farm, the students participated:

1. Cows were taken for cider insemination.

2. Participated in the leaching of embryos from animals.

3. Spent thawed seed.

4. Conducted an account of the cows in the hunt, for further insemination.

For our students, this is an opportunity to gain practical skills in the specialty “Veterinary” and experience in high-tech enterprises, which will help with further employment.
