Marathon "Financial Genius" at the Agrarian University

As part of the regional program "The financial literacy improvement of the population of the Stavropol Territory and the development of financial education in the Stavropol Territory", the first stage of the "Financial Genius" marathon was completed.

The goal of the tournament is to increase the financial literacy and intellectual potential of young people in managing their personal financial resources through- promoting knowledge that contributes to the acquisition of reasonable habits and skills in the formation of a personal (family) budget, use of banking services, including the use of loans, maintaining personal and family budget, the correctness of tax calculation and payment, life insurance and property insurance;- identify new youth initiatives aimed at improving the financial literacy of the population of the Stavropol Territory;- the creation of the algorithm for the formation of the habit of the population to the validity of financial decisions taken in the management of household finances and personal finances;- formation of a positive image of a financially literate person.

From February to May 2019, Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, Doctor of Economics, Professor Sklyarova Yulia Mikhailovna, and Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, Ph.D. Lapina Elena Nikolaevna conducted express examinations on financial literacy with elements of a master class in a webinar format for 200 non-economic students of the following secondary vocational education organizations of the Stavropol Territory: Mineralovodsky College of Railway Transport, Zheleznovodsky Art and Construction College, Aleksandrovsky Agricultural College, Grigoropolis Agricultural College , Svetlograd Pedagogical College, “Novopavlovsk diversified technology godfather, Nevinnomyssk Chemical Technology College "KRK" Integral ", p. Kursavka, Praskovei agro-technological technical school, faculty of secondary vocational education, Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The tournament participants had to complete 20 tasks on the following topics: personal financial resources management, consumer protection, taxation, lending, insurance, banking services, family budgeting processes, financial fraud. At the end of each master class, the “financial mistakes” made by them during the express exam were discussed with the participants, and the results were determined, which determined 5 winners from each site (students who scored the maximum number of points in the first stage).

On May 28, 2019, within the walls of the Agrarian University, within the framework of the implementation of the state contract with the Training Center of the Ministry of Finance of the Stavropol Territory, the final tournament will be held for the winners of the first stage, where children will have to fight in the board game “Money doesn't buy happiness”.
