The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, the Association of Producers and Processors of Livestock Products of the Stavropol Territory, Scientists of Stavropol State Agrarian University, North Caucasus Federal Scientific Agricultural Center (branches - Stavropol Research Institute of Agriculture, All-Russian Research Institute for Sheep and Goat Breeding).
The workshop was attended by leaders, chief livestock specialists, chief engineers, responsible for feed production, heads of farms, specialists of departments of agriculture and environmental protection of administrations of municipal districts of the Stavropol Territory.
Stavropol State Agrarian University was represented by Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Nikolai Zakharovich Zlydnev and Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Alexander Viktorovich Orlyansky.
The seminar covered in detail the production issues that directly affect the volume and quality of the preparation of succulent feeds:
- new varieties and technologies of cultivation of forage crops to strengthen the forage base of the Stavropol Territory;
- scientific substantiation of the preparation of high-quality bulk feeds;
- the effectiveness of the use of new additives and premixes in the feeding of farm animals;
- effective machine-technological complexes for the preparation of grass fodder.
- zootechnical and veterinary issues of feeding, keeping animals and obtaining dairy products in the breeding cattle farm “Russia”.
Particular attention was paid to the peculiarities of the technological process of harvesting haylage (rolls) into packaging (film): mowing, conditioning of green mass; drying in a roll; pressing hay; loading and transportation of feed to the place of storage; wrapping the rolls with a film wrapper; warehousing of finished products on the dairy farm.
All those present were shown a comparative harvesting of feed in the field with two production and technological complexes of machines: harvesting complex of agricultural machinery of the breeding farm "Russia" and agricultural equipment of the Kverneland group, provided by the dealer of the company "Scientific and Technical Center". The workshop participants had the opportunity to ask questions on the haylage harvesting to farm specialists, scientists and company representatives on the spot.
Also, the dealer of the company “Rostselmash” – “Stavropolstroyoptorg” demonstrated their forage equipment to those present at the seminar.
