Commission meeting on rare and endangered animals, plants and mushrooms of the Stavropol Territory

Employees of the faculties of agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture of the Stavropol State Agrarian University: Doctor of Agricultural Sciences A.P. Shutko, Ph.D., associate professors S.V. Okrut, E.E. Stepanenko, N.S. Chukhlebova, as well as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Technological Management for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor A.A. Khodusov - members of the permanent Commission for rare and endangered animals, plants and fungi of the Stavropol Territory at the Ministry of Environment of the StavropolTerritory, took part in the next meeting.

The agenda was devoted to the issues of updating the List of flora and fauna objects listed in the Red Book of the Stavropol Territory.

The Red Book of the Stavropol Territory is the main official document, according to which the territory of the region is protected by rare and endangered species of plants and animals. One of its main functions is to draw public attention to the protection of rare and endangered species.

During the discussion, the issues of maintaining the Red Book of the Stavropol Territory were discussed, including the need to conduct regular monitoring of rare and endangered species of animals and plants, in order to reflect the state of the natural resources of the Stavropol Territory at a specific time interval. In the course of this work, new species are inevitably identified, requiring the inclusion in this or category of protection, as well as a change in the status of previously known species.
