According to the results of a study by the Interfax International Information Group, Stavropol State Agrarian University is confidently in 1st place (for the fourth time in a row) among 54 agricultural universities of the country. In 2019, 327 higher educational institutions of Russia were included in the rating.
In the combined National ranking of universities in Russia in 2019, Stavropol State Agrarian University ranked 61-62 among 327 higher educational institutions of Russia and 1st among 54 agricultural universities of the country.
Saratov State Agrarian University (99-100 place), RSAU - Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev (101 - 106 place) and Kuban State Agrarian University (118 - 120 place) are following Stavropol State Agrarian University.
The list of the best universities in Russia in the summary ranking was headed by Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the second place was taken by the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, the third is Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
The activities of universities were evaluated by six parameters: brand, educational activities; research activities; social environment; internationalization (international cooperation); innovation and technology entrepreneurship.

The international information group Interfax has been implementing the project National Rating of Universities since 2010. The main goal of the project is to develop mechanisms and procedures for an independent evaluation system of Russian universities and their educational programs, to increase the competitiveness of the Russian education system, scientific research and technological entrepreneurship, and to develop federal and regional universities considered as drivers of economic growth in the country.
