Day of Russian for foreign students of Stavropol State Agrarian University

The decision to hold the Day of Russian, as one of the official languages of the UN, was first made at a meeting of the UN Secretariat on February 20, 2010. One of the goals of this holiday is to maintain the equality of all six official languages of the UN (English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and French), as well as to draw attention to various languages and cultural traditions.

In honour of this wonderful holiday in our University, as part of the “Literary Marathon”, the traditional Student Pushkiniada was held. This is a competition in which foreign and Russian students participate.

Students from Russia, Egypt, Syria, and Africa read delightful poems, sing romances to Pushkin’s poems, and admire the richness and beauty of the Russian language. The organizers of the event are lectures of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication and specialists of the Institute of Additional Education.
