Our University participated in the 32nd Assembly of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). The event was held at the University of Zagreb on the basis of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which is 100 years old.
Today it is the largest association in terms of numbers. The 105 institutions that train veterinarians worldwide are members of EAEVE.
In September 2018, a delegation of EAEVE experts visited our university with a consulting audit on the compliance of our university with the requirements of 16 European standards for the training of veterinarians. And we were the first among Russian universities to apply for the main visit of the EAEVE expert team.
The event was attended by over 230 representatives from Europe, as well as the USA, Japan, Australia, China, Thailand, and Tunisia, who also want to certify veterinary education for compliance with European standards.
At the end of 2018, 9 organizations became affiliated members of EAEVE, including five from Russia; two from Japan, as well as Ukraine and Tunisia.
A meeting was held with EAEVE President Dr. Stéphane Martinot and ESEVT CEO Prof. Dr. Pierre Lekeux, who noted the consulting visit of the team of experts to our university as one of the most successful.
The second day of the assembly was fully educational in nature and was held on the territory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zagreb. 20 reports were presented on the features of the training of veterinary specialists in different schools in Europe.
There was also a study tour of the faculty and veterinary clinic for large and small animals.
