Students meeting with representatives of the Irrico Group of Companies

As part of the professional orientation of students in the “Agronomy” direction, the development of the scholarship program and employment issues, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources with representatives of the Irrico Group of Companies, one of the leading enterprises in the field of vegetable growing and irrigated agriculture.

The production activities of the Irrico Group of Companies have 2 main areas - crop production and vegetable growing. The area of cultivated land is 21 thousand hectares, irrigated - more than 6 thousand hectares. Irrigation systems are equipped with modern irrigation systems. Irrico’s agricultural enterprises use modern technologies, such as fertigation, on-line yield monitoring, soil moisture monitoring, and others to grow grain, legumes and vegetables. Every year the company produces more than 25 thousand tons of potatoes and vegetables. It has its own vegetable storehouse with a capacity of 12 thousand tons, and in 2017 a new vegetable storehouse with a larger capacity was commissioned.

About this and many other students of the direction "Agronomy" said the Deputy General Director for Production Grigory Nikolayevich Smetanin.

Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Professor Alexander Nikolaevich Yesaulko emphasized that Irrico is one of the innovative companies in the Stavropol Territory that not only produces high-quality products, but also contributes to the development of the region as a whole by participating in social and educational projects. So, in 2018 - 2019. Seven students of the direction “Agronomy” underwent practical training and became scholarship holders of the company. Thanks to the leadership of the university and personally to the rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, students have the opportunity to get acquainted with advanced technologies in field classes held at the company's agricultural enterprises.

During the meeting, the head of the administrative and personnel service of the Irrico group of companies, Kadykova Tatyana, told students about the scholarship program for 2019-2020, the program of industrial practice for students and the possibility of employing students and graduates of the faculty.
