According to the strategic partnership between Stavropol State Agrarian University and the All-Russian Scientific Research and Technological Institute of Poultry Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as a part of the subprogram “Creating Domestic Competitive Broiler Type Meat Crosses” of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for Agricultural Development for 2017-2025, Stavropol State Agrarian University developed competitive sanitary and hygienic norms and requirements for the optimal cultivation of this meat cross.
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, in Decree No. 350 of July 21, 2016, set tasks for the implementation of the state scientific and technical policy in the interests of agricultural development.
For import substitution of breeding and genetic material, including in the field of poultry farming, the All-Russian Scientific Research and Technological Institute of Poultry Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences developed the domestic cross of meat broiler “Smena 8”.
Initial tests are currently being carried out, 1000 “Smena 8” eggs were laid in two experimental hatcheries in order to determine the optimal method for disinfection of hatchery eggs.
In one of the incubators, an experimental installation of ultraviolet irradiation of the air is installed, which differs from the known ones in the absence of toxic ozone emission and low imbrotoxic effect.
In the second incubator, eggs are treated with a traditional pest control.
Since 2009, the Vivarium of Stavropol State Agrarian University has been a scientific and educational unit of the Faculty of Technological Management as a part of the Department of Private Zootechnics, Selection and Animal Breeding. Students of the faculties of technological management and veterinary medicine are always involved in research work.
