Scientific and practical seminar: “Actual issues of the development of the meat cattle breeding industry in the Stavropol Territory: selection, technology, product quality”

The seminar was devoted to an important problem for the Stavropol Territory - the development of beef cattle breeding. Presentations were made by scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University and invited experts.

The scientific and practical seminar was attended by:

• Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor V.I. Trukhachev

• Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory V.N. Sitnikov

• Director of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Scientific Center for Biological Systems and Agrotechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences" Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences S. A. Miroshnikov

• Deputy Director of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Federal Scientific Center for Biological Systems and Agrotechnologies RAS E.M. Berlin

• Professor of the Department of Private Zootechnics, Breeding and Animal Breeding of the Stavropol State Agrarian University S.A. Oleynik

Also, managers and specialists of farms took part in the work.

A promising topic for the Stavropol State Agrarian University is improving the genetic potential of cattle of specialized meat breeds of domestic selection. In this project, our university acts as a co-executor, with the theme of research: "Development of a methodology for the rational use of highly productive genetic resources of specialized cattle of meat breeds of the North Caucasus, aimed at improving economically useful traits and increasing the quality parameters of beef."

After a fruitful dialogue, the guests visited the Stavropol State Agrarian University, the educational and laboratory buildings, the 3D prototyping center “Vector” and the hostel No. 5.
