Opening of the VI All-Russian Savings Week

Faculty of Accounting and Finance Department took part in the official opening of the VI All-Russian Savings Week. The purpose of the annual campaign, which takes place within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Finance of Russia “Promoting the level of financial literacy of the population and the development of financial education in the Russian Federation”, is to draw the attention of citizens to responsible financial behavior, the rules of personal financial security and the protection of the rights of consumers of financial services. This is a social project whose goal is to help Russians improve their financial literacy and learn how to effectively manage personal finances.

All-Russian weeks of financial literacy for adults have become an annual tradition. Since 2014, more than 12 million Russians from 85 regions of Russia participated in the events, and information about the Weeks is published both in the federal media, on radio and television, and in all regional publications.

This year, during the video bridge “Digitalization of Financial Services: Actual Challenges and Solutions”, connecting the regions: Moscow - Arkhangelsk - Barnaul - Kazan - Kaliningrad - Krasnodar - Saratov - Stavropol - Tomsk, by the speakers represented by Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Sergey Storchak, Vyacheslav Yuryevich Smolensky, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being, Chairman of the Board of the International Confederation of Consumer Societies Dmitry Dmitrievich Yanin discussed current opportunities and risks associated with the development of digital financial services, highlighted the features of the interaction of different generations with the digital financial environment.

After the live broadcast, rewarding letters of thanks of the project partners took place. The award for the effective work of the student volunteer squad "Financier" to the Dean of the Accounting and Finance Department, Kostyukova Elena Ivanovna, was solemnly presented by Suslov Yury Ivanovich, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Stavropol Territory. The best practices of expert tutors were also noted, among which were named Sklyarova Julia Mikhailovna, Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking of Stavropol State University and Lapina Elena Nikolaevna, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking of Stavropol State University.

The launched Savings Week will delight residents of the region with interesting events: lectures and seminars, financial festivals, free face-to-face and online consultations of financial experts, and educational events for students and business representatives.
