Meeting of the scientific methodological seminar “Which electoral system is better?”

Stavropol State Agrarian University, together with the Electoral Commission of Stavropol Territory, continues to conduct a permanent scientific methodological seminar on the problems of theory and practice of the electoral process.

The second meeting of the seminar on the topic: “Which electoral system is better?” was held. The features of the application of majority and proportional election systems in Russian electoral practice are considered, problematic issues are identified and possible solutions are discussed.

The meeting was opened by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor I.V. Atanov.

The main report was made by the head of the seminar, member of the Scientific Expert Council at the CEC of Russia, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation V.A. Cherepanov.

· Chairman of the Election Commission of Stavropol Territory, candidate of legal sciences E.V. Demyanov;

· Director of Stavropol Branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Yu.V. Vasiliev;

· Professor of the North Caucasus Federal University, Doctor of Law, Professor A.M. Drozdova;

· Associate Professor of the Kuban State Agrarian University, Ph.D. in Law I.V. Irkhin (video presentation).
