Teachers of the departments “Accounting Financial Accounting” and “Accounting Management Accounting” took part in the methodological seminar “Prospects for Accounting in the Modern Economy”. The event was held on-line and was organized by Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head. Department of Internal Control and Audit, St. Petersburg State University of Economics Natalia Kamorzhanova.

In their speeches, scientists touched upon the acute problems of the theory and practice of accounting, outlined the ways to solve them in the context of digitalization of the economy.
According to the unanimous opinion of speakers in modern conditions, the technology of collecting and processing information is rapidly changing, but the essence of accounting remains - this is a system of knowledge about the financial model of an economic entity. The emphasis shifts from the control and analytical functions of accounting to information and communication.
The seminar was attended by representatives of 21 universities in Russia and neighboring countries. The seminar became an open platform for discussing pressing accounting issues facing the professional community today.
